A POWER STATION AND MUCH MORE

SkyBuilt's MPS® is the Superior Power Solution for Remote, Base Load or Backup Power

  • It is mobile.
  • No fuel needed-or it can enhance fuel-based (diesel, etc.) Systems
  • Less expensive than many fuel-based Systems
  • Extremely low maintenance
  • Sets up in hours-runs for many years
  • Tough
  • Remote controlled
  • Modular and
  • Standardized, with off-the shelf components

A New Paradigm for Remote Power. SkyBuilt Power® has developed an innovative Mobile Power System® (MPS) that can help to revolutionize the rapid deployment of clean, green (solar, wind, hydroelectric) and fuel-based power for the military, Homeland Security, disaster relief, self-powered health clinics, and a wide variety of other U.S. and international commercial uses - all without bleeding edge technology.

Many Advantages Over Other Power Solutions. SkyBuilt's system has many advantages over many solar, wind or other green power Systems that have to be custom engineered, built on site, and are attached to the site with footings, etc., that make them more expensive and take longer to install. Frequently, those single power source Systems are relatively fragile (animals eat the wiring, etc.), and they provide little or no power during extended periods of bad weather. Diesel Systems have a high power density and can be mobile. But, they require a long and very expensive logistics and fuel chain, have a strong heat signature, higher life-cycle costs, create noise and other pollution, are less reliable and require continuous oil changes and other substantial maintenance.

A Power Station and Much More. The MPS, on the other hand, comes in its own standard, off-the shelf, steel freight container (typically 20' x 8' x 8'). It is easily shipped by land, sea or air, worldwide. Low power units can be moved and set up and running in hours, not days or weeks. The container can be heated and cooled for climate-controlled and lighted storage, office, medical clinic, border patrol facility, telecom, operations centers, or other secure, self-powered space in any environment from the desert to the arctic.

Why Use Fuel When You Don't Need To? A Revolutionary Design. It can use a wide variety of power sources, such as direct, solar to electric photovoltaic system (PV-with no fluids or plumbing) plus wind power, fuel cells, micro-hydro or others, and can include battery backup. So, unlike other remote or backup power sources such as diesel, it can run with no fuel for decades and without maintenance for many months. And, SkyBuilt can help you choose the best energy solution and best components for your application because the MPS can use any of them.

The World's First Open Architecture Power Station. It can operate on one or more power sources simultaneously (a hybrid system). In short, it is the world's first open architecture, plug and play, mobile power station, with over 140 patent claims filed for its revolutionary design. Like the PC that revolutionized the computer industry and made computers easier to use, the MPS can do the same thing for distributed power generation world-wide. Its open architecture design can take any kind of power into the system (green power, diesel, propane, etc.) and send any type of power out (AC, DC, 240, 120, 48, 24, 12V etc.).

Military, Homeland Security and Commercial Applications. The MPS can be hardened with earthquake-rated components, and is modular for easy set up and repairs. It is ideal for the growing military, Homeland Security and other demands for hardened, remote power for security purposes, backup power, remote wireless telecommunications, water pumping, refrigerating medicines in the Third World to fight AIDS, border patrol stations, and emergency power.

On or Off Grid. It can operate in parallel with the electric grid to generate green power, backup power or high quality clean power. Or, it can operate off-grid, as a self-contained power source with many AC and DC power/voltage options. Power output is easily expandable from 1kW up to 50kW or more by plugging in additional solar, wind, diesel or other power options. It has off-the-shelf, reliable, proven components, certified to UL and other national standards. The MPS also has remote monitoring and control capabilities, so it can be operated from anywhere in the world.

Why Did We Develop the Revolutionary Mobile Power Station®?

We developed it to speed the rapid deployment of green and fuel-based power by creating a standardized, self contained, economical, easy to operate and deploy package, all in a standard freight container.

There are many excellent solar, wind and other green power components, but where's the simple, standardized, self-contained system? There are lots of excellent green power components, such as solar panels, wind turbines, micro-hydro units, etc. on the market. They are commercially available and reliable. And lots of attention has been directed by companies on research to develop higher output components. But what really has been missing is a standardized, drop and operate system that can take any type of power (solar, wind, micro-hydro, fuels cells, diesel, etc.) that is mobile, plug and play, reliable and standardized.

The MPS is a simpler, PC-type solution for rapid deployment of distributed generation. Remember the computer industry before the Apple® IIe or the IBM® PC? Back then, only a engineer could write a simple letter on a computer. Now, a three year old can. Today's laptop PC is self contained, plug and play, has a standardized "bus bar" to plug in any components and is mobile and rugged.

A similar problem has existed with solar power, wind turbines and other green technologies. Often, site planning and on site assembly and wiring and/or footings and other preparations are needed. This takes time and money. Then, if not properly installed, such as where wires are exposed, etc., problems develop. The MPS solves these problems with a simple to deploy, plug and play, drop and operate system.

SkyBuilt has an Experienced Management Team of Business, Energy and Engineering Experts.

SkyBuilt's management team includes a prominent businessman and former housing manufacturing and facilities owner; a founder and a former Executive Director of the Solar Energy Industries Association, currently an energy consultant tied to projects with the Department of Defense, state homeland security offices and the solar industry; and a business consultant, corporate attorney and former General Counsel of the American Gas Association, who has represented or been a principal in electric, gas, solar, wind and other companies and energy associations.

SkyBuilt's team also includes telecommunications, electrical, mechanical, solar, and stress engineering firms, with experience in hundreds of energy projects, including a current solar roof project for the Pentagon; as well as international securities and patent law firms. Leading solar, wind and other energy firms are providing SkyBuilt with their technical assistance, electronics, solar and other energy components because of their interest selling their products in the standard MPS package, much like the Pentium chip is sold in the IBM® PC.
