SkyBuilt Power’s Mobile Power Stations are Ideal for Tsunami and Other disaster Relief Needs

Arlington, VA."There is an urgent need for instant, mobile power for disaster relief and recovery efforts in remote areas affected by the Tsunami and other natural disasters," according to David Muchow, President of SkyBuilt Power®. SkyBuilt is responding to this need by announcing its Mobile Power system (MPS)®, the world's first plug and play, modular, containerized, mobile power system, with over 100 patent claims filed for its revolutionary drop and operate design. "Like the PC that revolutionized the computer industry and made computers mobile and plug and play, the MPS does the same for energy," according to Muchow.

The MPS sets up in hours and is a complete power system prepackaged in a standard freight container that can be shipped easily worldwide by sea, air, truck and rail. The MPS operates in any climate, needs no fuel, is very low maintenance, rugged, and can be remotely controlled. It can provide power from 3.5kW to 150kW or more for backup or base load power to pump water, provide emergency power for disaster relief and long-term power needs. SkyBuilt's MPS uses proven, off the shelf commercial components. It can operate with no fuel, using any combination of solar/wind/batteries and micro hydro power, and also can work with diesel or other fuel-based Systems. This provides more reliable power than fuel-based Systems and cuts fuel and maintenance costs, on or off the power grid. The MPS can run for decades with little maintenance.

Bill Buck, SkyBuilt's chairman, noted that, "the MPS uses proven wind and photovoltaics technologies in a consumer-friendly, easy to ship and set-up package without the need for time-consuming custom engineering in the field. This makes it ideal for quick, reliable power in natural disasters." In addition, once the MPS is deployed, the insides of the container can be used for any purpose, including self-powered, climate controlled storage, an emergency operations center for disaster relief teams, including fire and police, a mobile medical clinic, Homeland Security, border patrols or a remote telecom power station.

SkyBuilt Power LLC is an Arlington VA based firm that integrates photovoltaics and small wind Systems with advanced batteries and quick set-up structures using standard shipping containers. A demonstration unit is operating at its facility in Arlington, Virginia.
