VBR Pipeline™ Exclusive — Rapidly Deployable
Self-Contained Renewable Energy Systems Developer Considers
Fundraising in 4Q09
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, USA –AUGUST

Power, Inc. (“SkyBuilt”), based in Arlington, VA is a renewable
energy product developer that invented and patented the world’s
first rapidly deployable, self-contained, expandable, solar,
wind and battery power systems. These sustainable power systems
are easily transportable and can be set up world-wide in minutes
(for small systems) to a day or two (for larger systems) and
run for many years with little maintenance and no fuel. SkyBuilt’s
systems can be used alone or can be combined with optional
diesel or other fuelled generators, and can be integrated to
communication, water treatment and other systems. Applications
include the military, intelligence and homeland security sectors,
the telecom sector where Skybuilt’s solutions can be used to
power cell towers and SATcom systems, remote medical and educational
facilities and other commercial sectors that can benefit from
a mobile renewable energy system that saves on fuel costs such
as mining companies. The company has developed six product
lines including: SkyStation, a complete, remotely controlled
energy station integrated into a standard shipping container;
SkySkid, a smaller, forkliftable power system; SkyTrailer,
a renewable or hybrid energy system built on a standard military
trailer, which has been developed in collaboration with the
US Army’s Rapid Equipping Force that saves up to 95% on generator
run time in the field; SkyCase, a set of airline-checkable,
rugged cases for grab-and-go renewable power; SkyPAK, a higher
performance folding, portable solar array kit; and the recently
launched SkyStructure, a rapidly deployable building structure
that integrates renewable power systems. SkyBuilt also designs
and builds custom, self-contained and easily deployable renewable
energy products and offers services such as renewable energy
integration, technology and engineering consulting and power
modelling for renewable energy technologies and micro grids.
Since inception in 2005, SkyBuilt has secured
a strategic investment from In-Q-Tel, a private venture group
established by the US Central Intelligence Agency (“CIA”). During an interview with VB/Research Dave Muchow, President and CEO at SkyBuilt, explained that the company has experienced rapid growth and increased its sales by 85% between 2007 and 2008, leading to profitability. “We are aiming to do much better in 2009” pointed out Muchow, “With its six product lines, SkyBuilt is in an excellent position to take advantage of opportunities currently existing on the market, such as billions of dollars in increased Federal and state funding for renewables and our customers’ needs to cut costs for fuel, operating costs and to increase power system reliability in the field.” He revealed that the company is considering launching a financing round during the last quarter of 2009. Although the amount is still to be decided, he mentioned that between $10 million and $20 million will be sought. The money will be used as working capital, mainly to ramp up to respond to the large volume of interest in SkyBuilt’s products.
