SkyCase Power System Components

• Carrying Case – One or more rugged carrying cases house all of the power components of the SkyCase system. The case is weatherproof, crushproof and dustproof, and includes fold-down handles and wheels for easy transport.
• Lithium-Ion Battery System – The SkyCase includes one or more lithium-ion or other batteries for system power storage and backup. Lightweight, rugged and extremely energy dense, the lithium-ion battery is equipped with sophisticated power management and safety features, including graceful degradation, and short circuit/overload protection. The battery system includes an LCD read-out panel on the exterior of the lid of the case to alert the user of the status of the battery system during charging/discharging.
• SkyPAK Portable Array Kits – The SkyCase includes four or more SkyPAK Portable Array Kits, which are rapidly deployable, crystalline, fold-out solar arrays. Approximately twice as powerful as thin-film solar arrays, the SkyPAK is sturdy and durable. The PV cells are laminated on a rigid backing to provide exceptional support at a low weight. The unique SkyBuilt “accordion” design ensures the arrays are rapidly deployable (each sub-array requires only one minute to set up), and allows the arrays to fold neatly and compactly into the SkyCase for storage and transport.
• Power Output – The SkyCase includes an optional small inverter system, for either AC or DC power.
• Expandability – The SkyCase is modular and expandable. For higher power requirements, multiple SkyCases can be connected.
• Optional Wind Turbine – The Wind Turbine Accessories Case includes one wind turbine, tripod-based wind turbine mount, voltage regulator and necessary input cabling.
• Charging Options – The SkyCase battery system can be charged by the solar array, the wind turbine, or with the AC adapter.
