A microgrid is a localized grouping of energy generation, storage, and loads. This configuration has significant efficiency advantages over the typical combat outpost electrical system where isolated loads connect directly to a single generator.

SkyBuilt Power’s Mobile Tactical Microgrid (MTM) delivers the fuel saving and efficiency benefits of the microgrid to the tactical edge by integrating a control system, energy storage, and renewable energy on a LTT military trailer.

The MTM will prioritize and control power generation and storage sources including multiple external diesel generators, PV arrays, wind turbines, and batteries. The MTM automatically dispatches the appropriate power source using a programmable logic controller (PLC)-based control system in order to maximize system efficiency and minimize fuel use.
